It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to our site. Tropical Beat, the award winning student organization at Miami Dade College, North Campus is back for "2006-2007" and we're on fire! We are currently in the process of updating our website for current year, so stay tuned! Please do come back.

We ended the "2005-2006" school year with 45 members, a great accomplishment for this young organization established in January, 2004 by Emilia Baron, a native of Dominica, the nature island of the Caribbean. We're on target to double our membership this year and continue our aim at becoming one of the fastest growing “student-established” organizations at Miami Dade College.

This semester (2006-1), we will be meeting every Wednesday in Room 4212 from 12pm – 1pm. If you are interested in becoming a member, please download and fill out our application form. Feel free to contact our current president, Fitz Smith via email at tropicalbeat05@hotmail.com .

Tropical Beat will be engaging in several activities throughout the year including but not limited to:

• Participating in many Student Life sponsored activities at Miami Dade College, North Campus.
• Participating in several community services at Miami Dade College and in the Community.
• Planning of social and educational activities that will promote and educate students about the Caribbean Culture.
• Being an active member of Florida Caribbean Students' Association, an opportunity that will allow students of Miami Dade College to interact with other Caribbean students across the state of Florida.

For you enjoyment, we have included an online radio station, "IslandRiddmZ" , that is dedicated to providing you with a wide variety of Caribbean music 24/7. However, Tropical Beat and its members are not responsible for the views and musical content expressed by IslandRiddimZ.
