Caribbean Awareness Festival 2006

Tropical Beat, the Caribbean Student Organization at Miami Dade College, North Campus will be hosting its 3^rd Annual Caribbean Awareness Festival. This festival will include guest speakers from the Greater Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce highlighting how Caribbean folks have contributed to small business enterprises in South Florida. Invited guests include Consulates from several Caribbean countries among many. Following this forum, there will be:

·        Tasting of Caribbean Cuisines.

·        A live performance by Carl Jacobs and the Islanda Band.

·        Steel pan music.

·        A dance performance by the Haitian IBO club.

·        A presentation by Jamaican-born poet and writer, Geoffrey Philp.

·        A presentation on Egyptology by Percy Chin, a member of the Nuwaubians.

·        Prizes available.

When: Monday, April 3^rd, 2006

Where: Miami Dade College, North Campus, MJ Taylor Lounge (Building 4, Second Floor) followed by performances in the Breezeway

Time: 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

(Forum: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) 

(Performances/Presentations: 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.)
